October 14, 1976
I wake up to my mom's voice "OK, get up, it's time" she says, I hate waking up so early specially when I am having such a nice dream about watching the flinstones in color (our tv set broke down a while back and all we have it's a B&W tv set).
I get out of bed an go to the bathroom, take of business, wash my face and my mom is waiting for me with the heavy duty hair gel (my hair is so stubborn wont stay put with anything less) and the Nivea lotion for my skin.
She already mixed me a "licuado" ( a blend of bananas, cocoa powder and milk) I am not a big eater so it takes me a while to drink the 32oz glass she makes me everyday, "I don't want you going hungry" she says.
It's 8:50AM and we leave the house, we walk down the street it's a bit cold. I see all the kids going to school, it's a crazy morning, dogs barking, kids rushing, and mom's waving to each other.
We make it to my kindergarden and my mom asks me to be a good boy and learn a lot. I see a lot of kids getting in and some are crying ( I never know why, I like school).
We start working on some Halloween project, I am not too good at coloring but I am being very patient I want this to turn out nice, I know my mom is expecting a baby but not sure what that means. I know I have a brother that cries and cries and takes all my stuff.
It's recess time, I will never get to see the backyard until the graduation day, my mom packs me a lunch that seems to be made to feed another 30 kids. I am a slow eater so it takes me all recess to eat it. When I am about done. the bell rings and a wave of kids gets back into the classroom.
The teacher brings out the mechanos and I love them. I love creating all kinds of things and mechanical creations.
That is very short lived, I always wish I could take them home with me. But now it's singing time, we learned a new song, it's ok my mom will be impressed.
Well the bell rings and the day is done. My mom is wearing that beautiful smile as she waits for me.
